Principal:

Steven E. Meister is a founding principal of Octazon Management and has over 30 years of experience in the real estate and mortgage industry. Steve and his team manage the rentals and operations of single family homes, apartment buildings, office buildings, strip shopping centers, warehouses and REO for investors, lenders and Realtors. He has also developed upscale condominiums in the South Florida marketplace.

Steve has knowledge and experience in court appointed receiverships and has been appointed numerous times by the courts as the receiver for all different type of residential and commercial properties involved in the legal process or subject to special servicing. Steve is also experienced in representing owners before code enforcement boards.

Steve has also been directly involved in the due diligence, analysis, origination and sale of hundreds of millions of dollars of first and second mortgages in the sub-prime market. He was the founder and chairman of a non conforming lender licensed in 10 states. He has managed the entire lending and default process, including mortgage underwriting, origination, funding, secondary market sales, servicing and default, foreclosure and REO disposition.

In addition, Steve is a former professional tennis player on the ATP Tour (1980 to1986) and has served as an ATP Tour board member from 1991 to 1993.

Steve holds a B.S. in Engineering from Princeton University and a Masters in Finance from Florida International University.

Marvin E. Katz is a founding principal of Octazon Management and is the director of sales and marketing. Marvin has 25 years of experience in the real estate and legal industries. Marvin is also the founding partner of Octazon Law, PL., which provides legal advice, guidance and training regarding landlord & tenant matters, leasing, Fair Housing Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act and other related property management issues.

Previously, as a former partner in a major real estate law firm, Marvin worked to constantly improve processes and procedures to create efficiency, increase revenue and insure compliance with quality standards and client objectives. Marvin uses many of those same skills to help bring order and efficiency to property management, bringing simplicity and peace of mind to the investor community.

Marvin also led the firm’s transactional practice, representing investors, individuals and lenders in thousands of residential and commercial real estate transactions. Marvin has negotiated and drafted multi-million dollar commercial leases and purchase and sale transactions. He has also supervised and personally handled deed in lieu of foreclosure transactions, REO closings, relocation closings and asset forfeiture closings for the United States Marshal’s office, as well as lectured on REO closings. Marvin also managed the operation of a title company that handled a significant number of title exams and many closings throughout the state of Florida and has served as an expert witness in law suits involving closings and title law.

Marvin is a member of the Florida Bar and has been included in the South Florida Legal Guide to Preeminent Attorneys. He holds a B.E. from Talmudic University of Florida and a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Miami – School of Law.
